GoGlobal offers expert guidance in scholarships, visas, travel arrangements, English language preparation, and research and data management for Ethiopians aiming to study and work in Europe, Australia, the UK, Canada, the US, and beyond. What is GDPR and what has GoGlobal Services done to comply?

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), effective as of June 11, 2024, supersedes national privacy and security laws within the EU. It introduces a unified and comprehensive EU-wide law governing the use, sharing, transfer, and processing of personal data originating from the EU. At GoGlobal Services, we are committed to upholding all relevant laws, including GDPR, that pertain to our business operations. We acknowledge that our customers have specific GDPR requirements that are influenced by their use of our services. To support our clients in maintaining compliance with GDPR and local regulations, we have implemented the necessary measures. In alignment with our dedication to GDPR compliance, we have recently updated our Privacy Policy. What’s changing with GoGlobal Services’s privacy policy?

GoGlobal Services has recently implemented an update to our privacy policy, effective August 18, 2024. This revision is in response to evolving data regulations, including GDPR compliance. The key modifications in the updated policy are outlined below. In essence, the new policy empowers our clients with increased control over their information. Our policy outlines the avenues through which you can make choices about your information and elaborates on the security measures we have implemented to ensure the safeguarding of your data.

Where do we collect your information, what information do we collect, and what is the primary purpose of the collection?

GoGlobal Services operates a research department tasked with identifying potential customers for our events. The department gathers information (The Name (First & Last Name), Email and Phone number) based on the customer’s registration through the application form links in social media such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Telegram, and TikTok to contact our customers for further activities (consultation services). Leveraging both human and artificial intelligence, the department generates participant emails and phone numbers from the collected information. Consultancy services are exclusively extended to individuals deemed relevant to our main services and are designed to match students with international universities and colleges that best align with their academic goals and career aspirations. We also provide a seamless visa and travel assistance to ensure stress-free experiences for our clients. While occasional invitations may reach irrelevant recipients, we provide an option to UNSUBSCRIBE from our mailing list. It’s important to note that unsubscribing will result in no further invitations, even for events that may align with your interests.

Furthermore, we collect data through our website, offering the option to submit information for consultancy registration and service requests. The collection of personal information serves legitimate business purposes, encompassing consultancy processing, information dissemination about new scholarship or work opportunities, products, or offers, and ensuring optimal service delivery. We are committed to upholding your personal data rights throughout these processes. Providing this information is voluntary, but failure to do so may impede the processing of your registration or inquiry. Rest assured; all information provided is treated with the utmost confidentiality.

GoGlobal does not share or publish our collected data. We do not rent or sell our customer e-mail lists. No list supplied by GoGlobal may be used by anyone other than for the confidential use of the original mailer. All lists are seeded with decoy names to protect against abuse; violators will be prosecuted.

Security

GoGlobal takes precautions to protect your information. When users submit sensitive information (such as a credit card number) over the internet, we protect it using encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. Access to all our users’ information is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job are granted access to personally identifiable information. Your information is safe with us. All our data is securely stored on the data servers of our hosting providers.  Sharonat International s.r.o. has confidentiality agreement with all our Hosting providers, and they abide by security decisions and provisions established for their services.

How can you verify, modify, or delete your information?

GoGlobal will make every attempt to keep your personal data accurate, complete, and up-to-date. If your personal information is incorrect, changes or if you no longer wish to receive information from GoGlobal, we will endeavor to correct, update, or remove your information as swiftly as possible. This can be done by e-mailing [email protected]. In case you want to verify which data is stored on your behalf, to have it modified corrected or deleted, please contact our data officer – email at [email protected] and explicitly specify your request. Special attention is drawn to the consequences of a request for deletion, in which case any possibility of being able to contact you will be lost.

Data storage and retention

The personal data we hold is stored on GoGlobal servers and on the servers of cloud-based database management services provided by our hosting providers.  GoGlobal retains data for the duration of the customer’s or member’s business relationship. For more information on where and how long your personal data is stored, and for more information on your rights to erasure, please contact the Corporate Partner’s data protection officer at [email protected]. Your personal data will be part of a list of contact details shared internally amongst the staff of GoGlobal Services for the purpose of contacting you in the future, in the context of GoGlobal’s activities. Personal data will be kept for a maximum of 12 months from the day of the reception.
